This is also the stage to identify your weakest section early, since fixing it later gets harder the closer you get to the exam.
Start taking full-length mocks and sectional tests regularly, not primarily to improve your score yet, but to get habitual with the actual online exam interface — the timer, the navigation, the on-screen calculator, marking questions for review.
Comfort with the interface is worth real marks on exam day, and most aspirants underestimate this until it’s too late.
Take a full-length mock every 2–3 days from the CAT Test Series, alternating with sectional tests for whichever section is still weak.
After every mock, spend as much time on analysis as you did taking the test — section-wise accuracy, time spent per question, and which mistakes keep repeating.
Shift to light revision and simulation, not new learning. Take timed mocks under exact exam conditions — same time of day, same section order, no interruptions.
Revisit previous year papers and your own mistake log rather than starting new topics. The goal now is calm familiarity, not cramming.

CAT has three sections — Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (Quant) — with a fixed time limit per section, taken in a computer-based format.
Yes, for multiple-choice questions, 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Non-MCQ (TITA) questions have no negative marking.
A 90+ percentile can open doors to strong B-schools; 95+ is competitive for top-tier institutes; and 99+ is typically needed for admission consideration at the older IIMs.
There’s no official cap on the number of attempts — you can take CAT as many times as you’re eligible (age/education criteria permitting) in different years.
A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) from a recognized university. Final-year students can also apply, provisionally.
